Mono Mills Hwy #9 (40.7 km ) to Hockley Valley ski club (51 km) = 10.3 km
It has taken me (Sonya) 16 months to post our last hike that took place April 5-7, 2019. Jackie was supposed to be on this hike with us. She wasn't going to hike with us due to health reasons, but she was going to spend the weekend away with us, in the AirBnB that she found and booked! It had been quite some time since we had hiked and had a get-away together, so we were all looking forward to this weekend. Instead Jackie was in hospital. She encouraged us to go without her but of course I was given orders to tell her every little detail and conversation we had 😃. She picked this AirBnB as there was this cute General Store across the street that had a little cafe attached. Her plan was to hang out here, drinking coffee, reading her book, and poke around the store checking everything out. Instead the 5 of us after dinner, were sitting around the diningroom table, face timing with Jackie on my ipad. She was so happy to be connected with us and wanted to hear all about our day, what we talked about, and how was the AirBnB? I walked around later having to give her a video room by room! lol. It just wasn't the same without her 😥.
On May 7th we had to say good-bye to Jackie. Our lives will never be the same but no one can take away the great memories we have of our friend! ❤️
I’d like the memory of me to be a happy one.I’d like to leave an afterglow of smiles when life is done.
I’d like to leave an echo whispering softly down the ways,
Of happy times and laughing times and bright and sunny days.
I’d like the tears of those who grieve, to dry before the sun;
Of happy memories that I leave when life is done.
written by Helen Lowrie Marshall, Afterglow, is a popular remembrance poem, because it captures so much of how a good friend would want to be remembered. It's about how they were when they were alive.

As this was an adventure we had planned with the 6 of us - the 5 of us have decided at this time to stop our Bruce Trail Adventure.
We have hiked almost 400 km out of 890. Almost half way!!
We finished the Niagara Section (78.9 km), Iroquoia Section (211.7 km), Toronto Section (49.5 km), and 50 km of the Caledon Hills Section.
